Its definitely a "knocking".
For me, Abstract Art always allows the portraying of thoughts, emotions, various feelings and expressions with the colors I put on the canvas. I rely on intuitive senses to create what is pleasing to me.

A showing of NEW WORKS at ARTPOINT GALLERY & STUDIOS SOCIETY From April 1-16
             1139 11 St SE Calgary. OPENING RECEPTION IS Friday Apr 1, 5-9pm.
    These works will be in the RED GALLERY & the STAIRWELL for the duration of the show.
      Gallery Hours of Operation are each week on Wed, Thur, Fri 1-5pm and Sat 11- 5pm.

"AWAKEN " means many things. We awaken from sleep. The sun awakens the day. However, it is also a revival, stimulation, challenge and motivation. Each canvas has its creative potential before we even begin to work on it in that we awaken to reality - our mood, feelings, how others affect us - often dictates where that canvas will go.

We see a vision. We are stimulated. We spring into action. Thus the creative potential.

Darlene loves intense color and movement but often creates a canvas with soft and few colors - looking for simplicity in the work.   Its all about feelings, intuition and emotions.

in this new showing, Darlene hopes to give the viewer many different works containing various colors, textures and images. Something that will fit in to any home or office.

You are invited to join me on SATURDAY MARCH 7, 2015 AT ARTPOINT GALLERY & STUDIOS SOCIETY ( in Inglewood area, just off of 9th Ave ) at 1139 - 11 Street SE Calgary at the Opening Ceremony from 1-5PM. I will have art pieces showing in the Red Gallery and the stairwell going to the upper floor. Use your GPS or follow the directions below my poster and watch for the Artpoint Street sign then follow that road down the hill.

HI Everyone :
Well the 1st 2 months of 2015 have flown by again. So glad we have had pretty good weather in these months. It has made it so much nicer for all of us and for me when going outside and travelling to Calgary - as I several times a month to visit my aging mom in her Seniors Care Residence. As I travel the roads, I think of what my next art piece will be. I believe I have created many great pieces - large and small. I will be completing more work with very much colour choices

So far in 2015, for February - I have had a joint art show with CALGARY ABSTRACT COLLECTIVE, I have delivered 15 pieces of art to OKOTOKS ART GALLERY for showing at the Municipal Centre during the 2 month period of March and April. Be sure to go and check out the pieces that are there. Tomorrow I will be setting up at ARTPOINT GALLERY AND STUDIOS in Inglewood area for Opening Reception on SATURDAY MARCH 7 1-5PM at 1139 11 St SE. Come on by and give me a visit. Would love to see you.

Coming later - March 28, April 18, May 30 are more shows with CALGARY ABSTRACT COLLECTIVE ( details later ) and another gallery show at ARTPOINT GALLERY AND STUDIOS in Inglewood area with Opening Reception on FRIDAY APRIL 10 5-9PM at 1139 11 St SE.

HAPPY 2015 NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE !
I AM BACK ! 2014 has flown by for us !
You will see that I have already added a new gallery to my Abstract Art Pages. It has a very interesting title and I believe will be a great gallery to start off this year. Read the '' little story '' that I have written on that gallery. I am pumped to get working on my canvas's and cant wait to get them published on that page.

My life has had lot of changes over this last year and my new gallery will reflect that. I hope you will find very interesting pieces in that new work !! Once I start on my new work, I have a feeling that I wont be able to stop. Watch for my new work. Many show & sales are already planned.
Read my 'About' to see the new shows coming up this year. Plan on attending several because you will see different works will be shown at the various shows & sales.

I am an artist. I have taken numerous classes and workshops since 2004 as shown under About in my CV. I work out of my home. When painting on canvas, I often loose track of all time. I am alone and quiet, peaceful and excited, ambitious and energetic. I am in place between body and mind - my hands doing something that my mind makes them do and ultimately - another painting !

I love what I am able to do and
I look forward to you following me on this journey !
